As electric vehicles gain in popularity, it only makes sense that electric car manufacturers continue to pump money into research and development that keeps their vehicles on top of the most wanted list by the ever-growing electric car consumer market. EdisonFuture plans to release its electric solar pickup truck in 2025. The vehicle is electric with solar panels for additional charging. This combination makes it an interesting option for your outdoor lifestyle.
EdisonFuture is a subsidiary of SPI, a renewable energy company based in Hong Kong. They were aligned with Phoenix Motorcars, another spinoff focused on electric vehicle technologies.
Benefits of the Edison Electric Solar Truck
The Edison 2025 electric solar truck fills a unique niche in the electric vehicle market. The EF1-T is truly a half-ton pickup in size and capacity. The solar pickup will be longer than the Cybertruck and the Ford-150 Lightning.
It has a roomy cabin that seats six and it has a standard 6.5 ft bed with an 8 ft option. The fact that you get this size and capacity in a fully electric and solar vehicle is the best part!
EdisonFuture EF1-T Pickup Truck Specifications
The EF1-T will be one of the first vehicles EdisonFuture will release. The design team comes from Phoenix Motorcars. Many of these professionals have been developing proprietary EV technology for more than 10 years.
This experience gives EdisonFuture an advantage for design and product infrastructure.
Configurations
The Edison e-pickup will be available in three configurations:
- Standard single-motor
- Premium dual-motor
- Super tri-motor
They differ primarily in their battery range, acceleration, and towing capacity.
Load Capacity
All three trims for the EdisonFuture e-pickup have a load capacity of 3,000 lbs (1,362 kg). That’s enough to hold passengers plus plenty of fishing gear.
Towing Capacity
The towing capacity of the Edison electric solar truck increases with the number of motors.
The standard single motor version has a towing capacity of 7,500 lbs (3,402 kg). A premium solar pickup can tow 9,000 lbs (4,082 kg). The towing capacity for a tri-motor super e-truck is 11,000 lbs (4,990 kg).
You should be able to tow a mid-sized boat with the single-motor EF1-T. If you have a larger boat, the dual-motor or tri-motor pickup will be a better choice.
Fuel
The EF1-T is fully electric. The standard version has an estimated range of 480 km. The range increases to 608 km with the dual-motor configuration and 720 km with the tri-motor.
The most innovative fuel component is solar charging. The EdisonFuture e-pickup has solar panels on the roof and the dashboard. It has an optional bed cover that’s also fitted with solar panels. This is a great feature for your extended fishing and camping trips.
Safety Features
EdisonFuture has built important safety features into the 2025 solar truck. For example, it has a liftgate backup camera.
The wing mirrors are cameras as well. These cameras have large interior display screens that provide a clear view of the road.
The optional solar panel bed cover locks over the rear bed to protect what’s inside.
Can the Edison Electric Solar Truck Handle Any Environment?
The EF1-T is built to handle the conditions you’ll find on your next camping or fishing trip. EdisonFuture designed it to meet drivers’ expectations for a standard half-ton pickup.
Off-Road Capability
For off-road travel, the dual- and tri-motor setups are all-wheel drive. These models should have plenty of power for most situations.
Features and Accessories Anglers Will Like
The Edison electric solar truck has some additional features and accessories that will appeal to anglers. For example, the bed has integrated tie-down points to easily secure your gear.
Each door panel has an aluminium-clad toolbox mounted to it. They give you the extra storage that you can quickly take with you.
The Edison electric solar truck will be an exciting addition to the e-pickup market. The combination of electric and solar power makes it a great option for outdoor adventures. A solar pickup for fishing could be just what you’re looking for.
