With any of these market-leading companies in the fishing industry, one thing you come to expect apart from getting top of the line gear every time is the innovative development of new products every year. This year, Daiwa has brought out their revolutionary Revelry Reel.
Daiwa 21 Revelry: Distinctive, Next-Generation Reels
Much the same as the original Certate range, Daiwa has introduced a new reel but in two versions to cover two different fishing styles.
Targeting the Australian and New Zealand light tackle markets, Daiwa has launched the 21 Revelry FC (finesse custom) and, the stronger option, the 21 Revelry HD (heavy duty).
21 Revelry Finesse Custom: Perfectly Weighted Reel
This lightweight reel makes finesse angling intuitive. Similar to the Certate in that it is crafted from a single piece Monocoque but made out of Daiwa’s corrosion-resistant Zaion body making them one of the lightest reels in the Daiwa line up.
One-Piece Monocoque Frame
This one-piece frame cuts flex and twist by 99%. Now, the compact body is more resilient under load than any two-piece reel body. It houses the main gear in a single, sealed protective engine plate.
Corrosion-Resistant Zaion Body
Zaion is a Daiwa-patented material. This high-density carbon resin is stronger and lighter than magnesium alloys. Zaion enables the reels to weigh in as little as 165g.
Ultimate Gear Precision, Smoothness
Daiwa engineers built the 21 Revelry reels with Tough Digigear. Each gear is machine-cut. Every gear is honed for rotational smoothness, precision, and strength.
Air Rotor
Revelry’s futuristic air rotor system moves the needle forward. It’s a hollow assemblage, so interior parts have more space to react. This maintains rotational balance better than previous design strategies.
The system’s Zaion arch works to diffuse force. This cuts stressing and flexing.
Air-Bail
The 21 Revelry reels introduce a new, stainless-steel bail. This hollow spool-gate lets any anger easily slide the line towards the roller. Lightweight line control is the name of the game.
ABS Longcast
21 Revelry reels have a modified spool. Like all of the reels’ parts, it’s slimmed down. And, it’s built from a lightweight plastic compound.
The ABS Long cast extends flight distance by 5%.
Automatic Tournament Drag
ATD is Daiwa’s patented drag grease compound. At rest, it’s a thin liquid. But, as soon as drag starts, ATD thickens and becomes sticky.
This shift lets anglers maintain a smooth drag with consistent pressure. It increases friction, so an angler can get a taut spool turning when the line’s running out.
Corrosion-Resistant Ball Bearings
The 21 Revelry reels’ corrosion-resistant ball bearings are built to last. They last twelve times longer than standard ball bearings. Daiwa’s patented coating lets these parts resist all abrasive grit.
