Fishing has always been a straightforward yet challenging endeavour. First, you must find the fish. Then, you need to get close enough to catch them without scaring them away. The Lowrance Ghost trolling motor lets you do just that. And it allows you to run faster and fish longer than ever before. Here’s a look at this revolutionary trolling motor that’s making waves among freshwater anglers without making a sound.
Lowrance Ghost Setting New Standards
Since introducing the little green box Fish-Lo-K-Tor 50 years ago, creating innovative fishing technology has been the Lowrance mission. The Lowrance Ghost trolling motor continues that tradition with a revolutionary design that has the potential to change the way you fish.
Lowrance introduced their brushless trolling motor in 2019. This new type of motor offers freshwater anglers more power, longer run times, and substantially quieter operation. But the benefits of Lowrance’s debut trolling motor don’t stop there.
The Ghost is designed to integrate with Lowrance sonar. It comes with an HDI sonar nosecone (for traditional and DownScan imaging). Or upgrade to Lowrance’s ActiveTarget live sonar to up your fishing game.
The only Lowrance Ghost problems stemmed from its limited size. Initially, the Ghost was only available with a 47″ shaft. Lowrance has since corrected that oversight, now offering 52″ and 60″ shafts to accommodate boats with higher bows.
Brushless Trolling Motor Is Truly Revolutionary
They call it the Ghost because the fish will never hear it coming. Lowrance’s brushless trolling motor delivers 25% more thrust and a 45% longer run time than current competitors. And it does it all quietly.
It’s so quiet it won’t interfere with your fish finders. And no electromagnetic interference means you get the clearest sonar views possible.
Powerful Integrations and Options
Lowrance Ghost users have options for finding the fish thanks to simple, straightforward sonar integration. The trolling motor comes with two nosecone options—the standard HDI transducer or the optional Active Imaging 3-in-1 transducer (CHIRP Sonar, SideScan and DownScan Imaging).
The SmartSteer interface gives the Lowrance Ghost trolling motor touchscreen control. It pairs with HDS LIVE, HDS Carbon, and Elite Ti2 displays using an NMEA 2000 connection.
A 24-volt system provides about 97lbs of thrust. Need more power? Switch to a 36-volt system to crank out 120bs of thrust. Battery and charger upgrades are also available.
Innovative Controls
The brushless motor isn’t the Ghost’s only innovation. Its fly-by-wire steering uses electronic controls, not mechanical controls, for instant response. It feels like a cable-steered motor but without bulky mechanical cables.
You can set up the configurable foot pedal controller (standard) for right or left foot operation. Then set its programmable shortcut buttons for the features you use most.
The Ghost 60″ trolling motor also comes with a standard remote so you can control it from anywhere on the boat.
Light Weight, Rugged Design
The Ghost’s brushless technology means it weighs about six pounds less than similar trolling motors. Yet it’s rugged.
The trolling motor is built with a 360-degree breakaway mount. So, the mount takes the impact, then automatically realigns once it’s clear. There’s also an integrated stabilizer bar to reduce porpoising in rough water.
Lowrance built the Ghost to last. The trolling motor has a three-year warranty, and the composite shaft comes with a lifetime warranty.
