Shaun Raymond and his well traveled fishing family recently spent a week fishing New Caledonia’s far north.
During the remote live on board they caught plenty of variety of pelagics and reef fish. They encountered a good number of seriously big GT’s, all of which handed them a severe lesson in heavy tackle popper fishing in nasty territory. The New Caledonian reef is now decorated with a large portion of Shaun’s popper and stickbait collection. The team came home very happy, with aching muscles and itching to return now that the GT bug has them hooked! Last I heard Shaun was restocking his Japanese lure collection, hitting the gym and planning a return assault… Look forward to the next instalment!
