The weather in Vanuatu last week was hot and beautiful, thus making it perfect for our guests. And here’s how the week went for Eric and Kevin, 2 of our esteemed fishing guides in Ocean Blue Fishing Adventures.
Kevin Is on Fire
For starters, the fishing gods must have been good to our guide Kevin last week. Right off the bat, he managed a nice blue marlin and yellowfin tuna jigging the bait schools offshore. Wahoo have also appeared on queue with a number of nice fish landed during the week.
Eric VS Dogtooth Tuna – The Heat Intensifies
It started really well for Eric and his guests managing 9 wahoo and a nice dogtooth early on. But his luck with the dogtooth ran out. The next 2 days saw bust off after bust off on big dogtooth.
Armed and more determined than ever, Eric used every doggie technique known to man – jigs, bait and topwater. Though his efforts were notable, doggies are extremely hard to land (see why doggies are so hard to catch, click here). Another day of bust offs, leaving Eric and crew empty handed.
